Sandy’s Story
There are not a lot of women contractors today and in 1976, there were almost none. Sandy Price-Martin was a mom with two young boys trying to make ends meet when a friend mentioned he wanted to have the outside of his house painted. Sandy, always up for a challenge, said that she would do it, that her father had shown her how to paint her own home.
On a sunny week in July of 1976, Sandy painted her first house. She had a ladder, a brush, and a pail. She also started that first job with a fierce work ethic and a fanatical attention to detail.
That first house became the start of a business that has spanned over 50 years and has seen some of Portland’s finest homes and commercial buildings.
The business is now a family business. Sandy works with her two sons, daughter in law, and grandchildren. Sandy has instilled the same work ethic and attention to detail, passing down old world craftsmanship techniques to three generations.
You will still find Sandy on job sites, ensuring superior quality and outcome of each job.
